What size events do you do?

  • We do house parties, small dinner parties, large events and weddings in the Western North Carolina Region.

How long are your sets?

  • Our Jazz sets are usually 45 minutes with a 10 minute break in between. 

What styles of music do you play?

  • The Moondrops love Jazz, but spice up each set with some Bossa Nova, Swing, Rhumba, and Latin!

Do you provide music during your breaks?

  • We provide an iPod with period music to cover transitions and breaks, that will stay "In The Mood."

Will you travel outside of the Asheville area?

  • Yes! We will travel outside Asheville, including Weaverville, Hendersonville, Waynesville, Sylva, Black Mountain, Brevard and beyond; standard mileage and lodging fees may apply.

How big is your band?

  •  Katie & The Moondrops can be as small as two and as large as large as six; email us for specifics!

Will you learn new songs?

  • We are happy to learn a few new songs for your special day or event; advance notice is appreciated!  
  • To secure your event, a 50% deposit is required, with contract.

How much room do you need?

  • Depending on the size of the band that you require we can do 6' x 7' for the duo or trio, and for the full band, at least 16' x 8'.

What are your power requirements?

  • We need to be within at least 5 feet of a standard outlet, but can supply extension cords with advance notice.

Should we tip?

  • We don't charge gratuity, but if we exceed your expectation, and you are so moved, we will graciously accept tips.

Do you Emcee?

  • If your wedding or event does not have a planner or emcee, we are happy to step in and facilitate or announce specific moments at no additional fee.

Do you play dance music?

  • The Moondrops stay in the era of Vintage Jazz, Swing & Latin, from the '20s to the '50s, and love to create that niche live-music experience, but we can happily refer you to the best DJ in Asheville:  Remix Mobile DJs
